Snapchat was facing an issue where the iOS version of the app on launch was crashing. Now it looks like that the bug has been fixed with a new update. This update is now available in the App Store. However, the bug did not seem to affect the Android version of the App.
Before the update, the app would show a message “Something went wrong” and it would go back to the home screen. This was seen in the iPhone 12 Mini.
The Twitter account of Snapchat hasn’t tweeted about the fix. However, they do have a pinned tweet which talks about the bug. Snapchat’s SVP of Product has however tweeted about the fix. After updating the App, the crashing issue seems to get fixed.
In case, your phone doesn’t automatically update, you can go to the App Store and download the update yourself. Go to the App Store. Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner and pull down so that the pages refresh. In case there are any updates available you can download them. If you have disabled the Auto-update option, you can go to Settings>App Store and then go to App Updates to turn it on under Automatic Downloads to turn it on.
