Apple TV Is Coming To Android TV Now

A collaboration of Apple with Android. Yes, you read that right. Apple TV will now be available in all the recent Android TV. Earlier this year, Google had announced that they would make sure that Apple TV is being supported on more Android devices this year. Google has told 9to5Google that from June 1st i.e. Tuesday the Apple TV app will be available for the entire “Android TV OS ecosystem.” Also, Nvidia announced on Tuesday that Apple TV will be available in their Shield TV. Thus, the final list of devices that support Apple TV as of now are streaming boxes, streaming sticks, and TVs from TCL, Hisense among others. Before this upgrade, Apple TV was only present in Sony Bravia TVs and Chromecast with Google TV.

According to the report from 9to5Google, the app is available in the Play Store search of the Hisense TV that runs on the standard Android TV platform. From the Play Store, it is already available for download on the Hisense TV. In the report of 9to5Google, Google was quoted saying that Android devices which run on Android 8.0 Oreo or higher that isn’t an operator-tier device will have an access to Apple TV. It is also mentioned in the report that there might not be any official announcement from Google or other OEMs about this.

This up-gradation is also in sync with Apple’s Summer content rollout. Shows like the second season of Ted Lasso, Lisey’s Story, Home Before Dark Season 2, Physical, and Central park Season 2 are all set to be coming to Apple TV in the upcoming weeks. Thus, this feature will come in extremely useful.
