Google will be reopening their offices in April with a certain number of people and not all will be asked to come, according to a report in The Verge. Google in a statement said, “based on specific criteria that include increases in vaccine availability and downward trends in Covid-19 cases.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google said that it is safe for employees to come to the office. They have to just come to the office three days a week and the other four days they have to work from home. This will ensure safety for Google employees.
He further said, “No company at our scale has ever created a fully hybrid workforce model though a few are starting to test it so it will be interesting to try.”
Microsoft had already said that they will be opening their headquarters in Redmond, Washington as well as the campuses nearby from March 29. They will be following a six-stage hybrid workplace strategy. Amazon has also let us known that they are going to let their employees come to the office.
