Apple To Offer Covid Relief Support To India

The COVID-19 situation has just been getting worse with every passing day. In such a situation, the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook announced on Tuesday that Apple will be supporting relief efforts on the ground in the country.

He took to Twitter and tweeted, “Amid a devastating rise of COVID cases in India, our thoughts are with the medical workers, our Apple family, and everyone there who is fighting through this awful stage of the pandemic. Apple will be donating to support and relief efforts on the ground.”

With the rise in the number of cases every day, India reported new 3.52 lakh coronavirus cases on Monday. This is the highest single-day hike recorded ever.

Previously Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai also took to Twitter to extend their support to India. Nadella tweeted, “I am Heartbroken by the current situation in India. I’m grateful the US government is mobilizing to help. Microsoft will continue to use its voice, resources, and technology to aid relief efforts, and support the purchase of critical oxygen concentration devices.”

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google also took to Twitter to say that the company will be donating Rs. 135 crores for COVID support in India. As India, is trying to get through this tough time, many countries like the US, EU, France, and Germany are lending their support in the form of oxygen supplies, ventilators, raw material for vaccines, PPT kits, and oxygen concentrators.
