The affordable OnePlus Smartphone lineup, OnePlus Nord, is all set to release on July 21. The launch event is the world’s first augmented reality smartphone launch. OnePlus has designed an invitation which can be bought from Amazon to experience the launch event through the OnePlus Nord AR App available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The phone will be launching in India and Europe for now, and will eventually release in the US, only if it’s successful elsewhere. The smartphone is expected to be priced under $500, much lower than the OnePlus 8 series. But the phone will retain premium features that OnePlus is known for and that’s exactly why there’s a lot of buzz around its launch.
The company hasn’t revealed much about the specifications, but here is what we know. OnePlus confirmed that Nord will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset and will be 5G enabled. It is expected that the smartphone will run Android paired with the company’s Oxygen OS interface over the top. The phone is close to the OnePlus 7T in terms of height and width, although it’s a little thicker. It will likely come with a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution. There is no physical fingerprint scanner, so there will probably be an in-display censor. It will retain the mute slider too, which is a hallmark of OnePlus devices. It’s confirmed that there’s dual front cameras. As for the number of cameras on the rear, it is probable that there will be four cameras on the back.
The only thing about camera specs OnePlus has confirmed is that this would be a flagship camera and that it will feature OIS in the main camera, which confirms the main sensor will be the same 48-megapixel camera used in the OnePlus 8 series.
