Chrome On iOS Updated — Cast Support, New Icon

chrome

Google Chrome on iOS devices has just been updated, bringing a new and interesting feature: support for Google Cast. As of now, developers will need to add Cast support to their Web pages, and then Chrome users will be able to ‘Cast’ them on to their supported devices.

The update brings the App to Version 36.0.1985.49, and while minor, it gets rid of the 3D raised effect below the icon, making it flat and on par with the rest of the iOS design, though the icon on the App Store is still the old one. There is also the usual bug fixes and improvements.

Here is the complete changelog from the App’s iTunes Page:

What’s new in Version 36.0.1985.49:

• Allows mobile sites that have added Cast support to work with your Cast-enabled device.
• Stability improvements and bug fixes.
