Five years from today, YouTube, the popular video site owned by Google was launched in BETA. Today is YouTube’s Birthday and it is celebrating it in style.

The YouTube Logo has a “5” shaped candle lit beside denoting five years of successful existence. Its homepage is also spotlighting its five year mark. The special page has famous people (or people who became famous through YouTube) who narrate their YouTube story to the world.

The page even has a five year time-line which shows the major milestones that it has achieved. Some of them include, IPL hosting of YouTube, Bad Romance and YouTube’s Interview with Obama.

The site also features favorite video picks by famous people over the past period of five years such as Conan O’Brien, Vint Cerf, and Katie Couric.
