StanChart Employees Switch to iPhone

Standard Chartered is now giving its employees an option to choose between Blackberry and iPhone.

The bank earlier gave all its employees a Blackberry, but now they do have a choice to make. This move would make a lot of bankers Apple customers and gives the iPhone a larger market share. “It’s a group-wide initiative involving wholesale and consumer banks globally” said a spokeswoman for Standard Chartered.

Many other banks globally such as HSBC and Morgan Stanley have also repeatedly resisted Blackberry. With Unified Mailbox coming to iPhone with iPhone OS 4.0, it would definitely attract a lot of users and force some to make the switch.

Well if this trend catches up on an exponential rate and spreads across other sectors, Apple would be getting what it is aiming at – capturing the RIM market.

Osfoora – The Next Best iPhone Twitter Client

Till date, Tweetie was the reigning champion and was the best available Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch. Tweetie was developed by atebits and was used by millions. Due to its superb functionality, extraordinary features and elegant looks, it was acquired by Twitter itself.

Enough said about Tweetie. It seems that even the official Twitter App is going to have some competition with Osfoora, a new Twitter client for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. A strange name but it wins the competitive game. It is available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and at first sight, it looks awesome.

Wish there was an app for that

Apple claims that there is an app for just about everything. Sure there are alternatives to some of the apps but sometimes we wish that there was an iPhone app for that particular service.

Do post in the name of the apps you wish was available for the iPhone platform but is currenlty not there.

What would Apple do?

We were planning to come up with an iPhone app for TheAppleGoogle and suddenly a thought struck us. What would Apple do if we name our app as “TheAppleGoogle”. Wow, that would be interesting . Would they reject the app or approve it??

Declining so many apps these days , Apple seems to be on a streak and it feels as if they would straight away reject our app due to duplication of functionality and the “g” word in it.
They would say ” REMOVE THE G WORD OR REMOVE THE APP” .
