Google’s mobile search engine is as powerful as the desktop version and is capable of carrying out complicated math functions and everything which the desktop version does. The mobile version just went a step further. Till date, before buying an App you do a bit of review online about the App. Searching for the App from Google Mobile Search renders links and results which lead you to the Android Market or the iPhone App Store. This is quite time consuming.
Grand Theft Auto got ported to the iPhone and iPod touch only a few months back. Chinatown Wars, a GTA series was developed specifically for small screen devices and GTA made its entry to the App store with it. The App is a blast and playing it is super fun. The heavy $10 price tag that the App carries around it is like an Albatross.
Mozilla has announced that they have been working on an application for the iPhone known as Firefox Home. Firefox Home is based on Mozilla’s Sync (earlier known as Weave) technology and it gives users instant access to their bookmarks, browsing history, opened tabs and recent tabs from their last Firefox browsing session.
Today, Apple updated its iBooks Application which runs on the iPad.
iBooks is now on version 1.0.1 and fixes a few issues. iBooks has been a success for Apple and the iPad, a major milestone.
Gameloft, a popular and huge developer of games for many platforms including iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has recently announced that Prince of Persia Warrior Within is going to be ported on iPhone and would be out on June 3.
Gameloft has even posted some screen-shots of the new game and they look awesome. Reportedly, Gameloft had a press conference in Paris and declared that Prince of Persia Warrior Within would be coming soon. The title has been popular on various gaming consoles like Xbox, PlayStation and even PC.
We witnessed the iPhone 4G roar take place and a few days back even saw a white iPhone prototype appear on several websites. The leaks appear to be coming from Apple’s manufacturing unit in China.
These facts already make us somewhat sure that Apple is going to announce its iPhone 4G at Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), to be held from June 7-11 at San Francisco. Need some more proof? Walmart has reduced the price of iPhone 3GS to $97. Looks like a clearance sale to make way for the new product. The 100$ price drop almost confirms the arrival of an iPhone from Apple.
Hope it will be as magical as the iPad.
Standard Chartered is now giving its employees an option to choose between Blackberry and iPhone.
The bank earlier gave all its employees a Blackberry, but now they do have a choice to make. This move would make a lot of bankers Apple customers and gives the iPhone a larger market share. “It’s a group-wide initiative involving wholesale and consumer banks globally” said a spokeswoman for Standard Chartered.
Many other banks globally such as HSBC and Morgan Stanley have also repeatedly resisted Blackberry. With Unified Mailbox coming to iPhone with iPhone OS 4.0, it would definitely attract a lot of users and force some to make the switch.
Well if this trend catches up on an exponential rate and spreads across other sectors, Apple would be getting what it is aiming at – capturing the RIM market.
