twitchTwitch is an extremely popular video game streaming site which apparently has got more peak traffic than Facebook. The San Francisco-based company lets users upload and watch, live gameplay videos for free that can be streamed from Microsoft Xbox and PlayStation 4 consoles. According to Twitch, it has more than 45 million monthly users of which more than 1 million members upload videos each month. It’s one of the most exciting Apps which keeps everything same i.e. font, background etc and it’s just the text that changes in language. It supports english translation for six languages Russian, Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish and German. It’s available both in the App Store and Google Play for download. Incredibly enough, Word Lens is also supported by Google Glass. Looking at uniqueness in solution and popularity of the App, it is not a surprise that Google was interested in acquiring the company. Sparrow Acquired by Google

sparrowUnbelievable, right? I know it. Sparrow, the extremely famous mail App for Mac and iOS has been acquired by Google. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the Sparrow team or by Google. The Sparrow CEO has made it clear that they won’t be releasing any updates to the App as they will now focus on their work at Google. The entire Sparrow team will be moving to Google to work on future products. Hopefully, a better Mac Gmail client will be made available, but for avid Sparrow users, this is sad news. Sparrow will however provide updates for critical bugs and also support for users. Read More

Google has acquired Quickoffice, the all-in-one office suite for mobile platforms including iOS and Android to evolve Google Docs more and to make it more native. The Quickoffice team will be moving to Google HQ to qork on Google Docs and to make it a more integrated part of a computer.

Although the price has not yet been disclosed, it is rumored that the deal took place for $400M.
