Sparrow Acquired by Google

Unbelievable, right? I know it. Sparrow, the extremely famous mail App for Mac and iOS has been acquired by Google. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the Sparrow team or by Google. The Sparrow CEO has made it clear that they won’t be releasing any updates to the App as they will now focus on their work at Google. The entire Sparrow team will be moving to Google to work on future products. Hopefully, a better Mac Gmail client will be made available, but for avid Sparrow users, this is sad news. Sparrow will however provide updates for critical bugs and also support for users. Read More
Quickoffice Acquired by Google

Google has acquired Quickoffice, the all-in-one office suite for mobile platforms including iOS and Android to evolve Google Docs more and to make it more native. The Quickoffice team will be moving to Google HQ to qork on Google Docs and to make it a more integrated part of a computer.
Google Acquires Zave Network To Enhance e-Commerce

Google moments ago announced that it has agreed to acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. Google’s Android OS which the company gives away for free and touts to be “open source” has seen much success recently, and to dominate the entire mobile industry and to go head on with Apple, Google CEO and founder Larry Page today announced that the search engine giant will be acquiring Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion.

Google Acquires AdMeld for $400 Million

Google has acquired AdMeld, an advertising platform for publishers for about $400 Million. Blog posts by both Google and AdMeld suggest the acquisition to be confirmed. Although the price has not yet been disclosed, it is rumored that the deal took place for $400M. In a blog post, Michael Barrett of AdMeld mentions although the deal is waiting for review, AdMeld and Google will remain independent after the acquisition. Read More
