Both Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro uses optical under-display sensors, which has received user criticism online for being unreliable and slow. However, Google has not acknowledged this as an issue. In an official statement given by the Made by Google Twitter account, the company claims that “enhanced security algorithms” used by the smartphones is responsible for the delayed response. These additional protection features necessitate a prolonged period to verify, and may require more direct contact with the fingerprint sensor in order to be able to authenticate the fingerprints of the users.
