Apple “Reinvents Textbooks” With iBooks 2

At today’s Apple educational event in NYC, Phil Schiller took on stage to demonstrate iBooks 2 which would reinvent textbooks. It would be an all new interactive textbook experience directly on the iPad that would take books to a whole new level. In a demo, Apple demonstrated a well-designed biology book which included a intro movie, cool, rich, engaging interactive experiences. iPhone Has Doubled Verizon’s Sales, But Has A Bad Side Too

A recent report from a major telecoms company, Verizon tells us that the iPhone is ‘bittersweet’ for them. This is due to the almost 11 million iPhones that they have sold over the due course of 2011, that’s including the 4.2 million they shifted in the last quarter. While Verizon themselves do admit to be down on their wireless margins, but this is due to the shear amount of iPhones that they have sold.
iBooks Update Adds Read-Aloud and Fixes Bugs

Apple has updated the iBooks App using which users have downloaded over 130 million books till date. The App now supports read-aloud, and includes a few improvements and bug fixes. iBooks 1.3 also makes the App more responsive, and enhanced books now have the ability to play audio and video from within the App. Read More

Nook Kids App for iPad Released by Barnes and Nobles

Barnes and Nobles today released the Nooks Kids application for the iPad for free. The App plans to extend the well-established and popular children’s digital reading experience to the iPad.
