Google’s developer page has shown that Android 7.0 is now the most used version of the mobile operating system. Nougat runs on 28.5% of devices including both versions 7.0 and 7.1, taking over the second most-used version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow which stands at 28.1%.
Android Oreo 8.0 comes at 6th place, with only a minor improvement of .9% compared to devices running Oreo in 2017. The popularity of Nougat may reflect on the trend that users mostly have to use old operating systems which is not so optimal.
