eBay Seller “heylookitskibbe” put up a huge glass stair which he claims is from Apple’s Fifth Ave. Store.

According to the seller, a part of the Apple $300000 spiral staircase was broken and Apple didn’t want to keep it.

So heylookitskibbe and 3 others lifted it up and now its for sale on eBay. The starting bid is that of $200.

What would Apple do?

We were planning to come up with an iPhone app for TheAppleGoogle and suddenly a thought struck us. What would Apple do if we name our app as “TheAppleGoogle”. Wow, that would be interesting . Would they reject the app or approve it??

Declining so many apps these days , Apple seems to be on a streak and it feels as if they would straight away reject our app due to duplication of functionality and the “g” word in it.
They would say ” REMOVE THE G WORD OR REMOVE THE APP” .

Opera Mini for the iPhone

Opera announced their browser for the iPhone during the Mobile World Congress held at Barcelona. The browser is really fast compared to the iPhone’s native Safari. Opening up TheAppleGoogle was 2x faster on Opera Mini than iPhone’s Safari.

The main features include –

Speed – The Opera Mini is definitely faster than Safari.

Start-up Page – The startup page of the browser is a bit like Google Chrome and shows the tabs of all the sites you recently visited.

Secure – When you are on secure Web sites Opera Mobile 10 will visually display a padlock in the top right of the user interface to indicate your data is secure.

InPage Search – You could search for words within web pages by tapping the Tool’s icon and then Find in Page.

Negatives

The only negative part is that it does not support pinch zooming . To zoom you need to double tap the screen.

Opera said it’s just like the Opera Mini on any other mobile OS. Opera would be submitting their app to Apple in the coming weeks.

YouTube launches Disco – An Alternative to Genius

YouTube Disco is a music discovery tool which allows you to search for an artist or song and hear more songs by that artist ,you might discover something new but it will be within the artist’s own discography or you can search for music related to the song or artist you initially searched for.

While searching for a Brad Paisley number we got his short biography on the top and a few of his other popular songs. Tracy Adkins and Keith Urban were among the recommendations . It functions a bit like the iTunes Genius service but performs better.

Flash or HTML 5 – iPad

During the iPad demonstration, Steve.P.Jobs visited a few sites where blank squares appeared where video or animated content would normally be displayed. This square indicated a missing plugin. The plugin was Adobe’s Flash. The iPad would not display videos, animations or any other content created using Adobe’s Flash.

Apple believes that having Flash on the iPhone would make the device slow and buggy. Many new sites have been experimenting with a new video format called HTML 5. HTML 5 is the next level of HTML which is capable of handling video and animation, just as Flash does. HTML 5 works directly in a web browser. It would enhance iPad and iPhone users experience by playing web-based video content.
The HTML5 editors are Ian Hickson of Google, Inc. and David Hyatt of Apple, Inc .

But migrating to a new video format would be tough and troublesome. Flash has a lot of advantages and is the standard multimedia language for a vast majority of developers. Flash’s UI is definitely better and involves less manual coding than HTML 5.

After the development of HTML 5 , iPhone and iPad users would hopefully see fewer blue blank squares on their screen.
