iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 Released by Apple

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has updated its iPhones to iOS 15.5 and its iPads to iPadOS 15.5. As suggested by the small increment of .1, this is not a big update. However, it still sports quite a few new features. For instance, the Wallet app now allows Apple Cash users to send and request money from their Apple Cash card. Additionally, the Apple Podcasts app now includes a new setting that limits episodes stored on a user’s device. It also deletes older episodes automatically.

With these new updates, users of the Apple Wallet app can now Apple Cash to send and request money from their Apple Cash card. Another feature brought on by these updates applies to the Apple Podcasts app. A new setting n the app can now limit the number of stored episodes on a user’s device, as well as auto delete older episodes.

The update also brings with it the fix to an issue where home automation might have failed when triggered by people arriving or leaving. These new updates to iOS and iPadOS bring with them over 25 security fixes. As per Apple, none of these are currently being actively exploited. However, it might be best for users to update their devices before they fall prey to these vulnerabilities.

In all likelihood, the update has already been announced by iPhone and iPad devices. However, in the unlikely scenario that a user’s device has not done so yet, they may easily head into Settings and do so manually. Apple does not do staged rollouts, unlike Google. Any user who wishes t get the new software may find it available already.
