WhatsApp Brings ‘Global Voice Message Player’ Feature

Just sometime back WhatsApp released the feature through which the playback speed of voice messages could be changed. Now it has come up that the company will probably be releasing some more features that will be helpful to those who use voice messages.

The feature that WhatsApp is set to be working on is a ‘global voice message player’. This will allow the user to listen to the voice messages even after you leave the chat. WABetaInfo said that when you play the voice message and exit the chat it will be pinned at the top of the main app. The mentioned source also revealed that the app will display the voice messages on every section or chat that you visit while the voice note is being played.

Also, you will be provided with an option to pause and dismiss the voice note whenever you feel like it. Such a feature might come in handy when you have a long voice message from someone. WABetaInfo says, “In this case, you can continue sending messages to other contacts when you are listening to the voice message.”

As of now the feature can be seen only in the iOS beta version but not for everyone. The source has also confirmed that the same feature will soon be available to Android users in a future update.

WhatsApp has recently been in the news for enabling end-to-end encrypted backups for Android and iOS users. To protect your chat backups using end-to-end encryption you need to select a personal password or a 64-bit encryption key.

This feature will be seen in the 2.21.21.5 Android version of WhatsApp and 2.21.200.14 iOS version of WhatsApp. WhatsApp is also working on a feature called default message timer that will allow the users to have conversations with disappearing mode.
