Google Pixel 6 Might Have To Stop Magic Eraser Feature And Five Years Of Android Security Updates

Leaks are coming in about the upcoming Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro back to back. Sources have now revealed that the camera for the Pixel 6 will be featuring a new Magic Eraser and also that the devices will be getting 5 years of Android security updates (h/t 9to5Google).

As per Evan Blass, a reliable leaker, the Carphone Warehouse website has released images of Google marketing materials for the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro however the pictures have now been taken down. Screenshots have shown the description for the Magic Eraser and it looks like it will be linked to Google Photos.

Most of the things that the latest photos have already been leaked and confirmed. As known previously, the Pixel 6 camera will have a 50 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. The Pixel 6 Pro on the other hand will have a 48 MP telephoto lens.

Engadget also said that on some of the copies of the leaked images in small tiny fine print references it is written, “Android security updates for at least five years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US”. This somewhere means that the Pixel 6 devices would have protection into 2026.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will officially be revealed in Google’s autumn hardware event on October 19.
