Google Celebrates Its 23rd Birthday With A Doodle

Google turned 23 on Monday. To celebrate this, Google brought in a very cute doodle on its homepage.

The doodle is an animated one. It shows a cake with “23” written on it. In place of the “L” of “GOOGLE”, there is a birthday candle in the doodle.

Google’s foundation has started n 1997 but officially the company came into being on 27th September 1998. It was founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Today, Google has turned out to be the most widely-used search engine throughout the world. Sundar Pichai, the current CEO of Google, replaced Page to become the CEO of Google on 24th October 2015.

Sergey Brin was a graduate student at Stanford University and Larry Page was considering Stanford for graduate school at that time. Brin was asked to show Page around the campus. A year later both of them were working together on a search engine together and creating their first prototype.

Google says, “Every day, there are billions of searches on Google in more than 150 languages around the globe, and while much has changed from the early days of Google, from its first server housed in a cabinet built out of toy blocks to its servers now being housed in more than 20 data centers globally, its mission of making the world’s information accessible to everyone remains the same.”
