Active Edge Might Be Coming Back In The Pixel Series 6

Active Edge is the process of launching the Google Assistant by squeezing the phone. This was introduced by Google in the Pixel 2 and continued to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4. However, it was omitted from the Pixel 5. The Pixel 5 although does have an unrelated feature dubbed battery share i.e. reverse wireless charging.

Now as per reports from Mishaal Rahman of XDA, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be having both Active edge and Battery Share. From what it looks like both of these won’t have a charger in their box. The Pixel 6 is known to be having a 4,614 mAh battery whereas the Pro model will have a 5,000 mAh battery.

Some more details of these phones that have come up are that official fabric cases will be available for all of them. The small phone will have cases in the colors that are called Stormy Sky, Light Rain, and Cotton Candy. Also, the big phone will be getting the cases in the following named colors-Stormy Sky, Light Frost, Golden Glow, and Soft Sage. These were spotted at a retailer by Roland Quandt.

The phones will themselves come in three different colors, and probably they will only have the black color in common. Maybe that is why they both have Stormy Sky cases.

The Pixel 6 series will probably be available in mid-October. It will be featuring a custom SoC, upgraded cameras, and in-display fingerprint readers which is another deviation from the previous models.
