Google Meet Gets New Filters And Effects For Calls

Google meet has come n the news again and this time. The video conferencing platform has started receiving new video filters, effects, and augmented reality masks during personal calls for both iOS and Android users. Google also announced this through its official Twitter handle. There is a sparkle icon present at the bottom right of your video call feed and that is the place where you will find these.

Although most of these options are available only for personal Gmail users, Workspace users will also be receiving some options like the selection of blurring (although limited) and the virtual background options.

With Google’s initiative of bringing in these steps, it looks like Google is all set to turn its attention from the enterprise and business users to the consumers. Google meet was provided free of cost to all personal Google accounts last year. Google has had its consumer-focused Duo for a long time and the features introduced to Google meet now are similar to that of Google Duo. As per reports of 9to5Google, eventually, Google will replace Duo with Meet.

Google has been getting updates back to back. Just recently it got the improved hand-raising feature. Through this, the users would be able to better spot and acknowledge raised hands during a video conference. Also, improved visual icons and animation on the video title have been introduced recently.
