WhatsApp Extends Its Disappearing Message Feature

The disappearing messages feature was introduced by WhatsApp some time back. Now, it has decided to extend this feature for WhatsApp group members. When this feature is enabled, seven-day-old messages get deleted automatically. However, this was available only for individual chats but now WhatsApp has availed this feature for WhatsApp groups as well. And not just for the admins but for the members as well.

From a report from WABetaInfo, it is known that this update will soon be available for every WhatsApp group. It has already been seen in Android version which is using the app. Although, the admins have the upper hand. They can stop individual members from enabling the disappearing mode.

Using the WABetaInfo platform one can stay updated about the latest features launched on the app. Recently, they had uploaded a report about a screen grab where the “Edit group info” feature can be updated. By this, one can reflect on the recent changes. There is a disappearing messages feature there from which we can select either “All participant” or “Only admins’.

Apart from all this, another feature is on trial. That feature will reduce the time for disappearing messages from 7 days to 24 hours. Another thing that WhatsApp is doing is that they have launched a beta version for Android users, to test the functionality of the mention badge. The mention badge is seen when someone sends a message to a specific person in a group. That person will receive the mention badge.
