Here’s What CEO Of Apple Tim Cook Had To Say About Tesla And Elon Musk

Around December last year, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX had made a shocking revelation. He had said that Tesla was having a tough time and during that time he wanted to meet Tim Cook, CEO of Apple to sell Tesla to Apple but Cook did not meet him at that time.

However, in an interview, Cook has talked about his views on Tesla and Musk. Although, he did not give any clarification about what Musk had said about Cook not meeting him.

He has said to Kara Swisher for Sway that he has never met Musk.

Cook said, “You know, I’ve never spoken to Elon, although I have great admiration and respect for the company he’s built. I think Tesla has done an unbelievable job of not only establishing the lead but keeping the lead for such a long period of time in the EV space. So I have great appreciation for them.”

Swisher was asking Cook about self-driving cars when Musk’s topic was brought up. Swisher reported that Musk said, “he offered to sell Tesla to Apple for 1/10 its value. And he said you wouldn’t even take a meeting with him.”

Though Cook did not shed any light on what Apple would be doing with the cars there are rumors doing round that there might be an Apple Car in the future.

Cook further said, “In terms of the work that we’re doing there, obviously. I’m going to be a little coy on that.”

He added though that “the autonomy itself is a core technology.”

Further, Cook said, “If you sort of step back, the car, in lot of ways, is a robot. An autonomous car is a robot. And so there’s lots of things you can do with autonomy. And we’ll see what Apple does. We investigate so many things internally. Many of them never see the light of day. I’m not saying that one will not.”

Swisher asked, “Would it be in the form of a car or the technology within a car?” Cook refused to answer that question.
