As per recent news, Google has removed MobiKwik from Google Play Store. This is because MobiKwik had violated the Ad policy of Google Play Store. Bipin Preet Singh who is the CEO and Co-Founder of the MobiKwik App stated that the reason behind this was because the application has the link to Aarogya Setu App. The Co-Founder in an interview also stated that they had received a warning from Google for promoting Aarogya Setu but when confronted by MobiKwik, Google stated it to be a mistake.
Even after this, Google removed the MobiKwick Application from the Google Playstore as according to Google, the application had violated the terms and conditions of Google Play Stores Ad Policy. As per the founder, MobiKwik and other fintech companies were asked to include the link to Aarogya Setu App as a method to promote by the Reserve Bank Of India to install the contact tracing application. Even after mentioning this to Google, they have removed their application from the Google Play Store.
MobiKwik then removed the link to Aarogya Setu and then coursed Google to put it back on the Google Play Store. After reviewing the Application, Google has now made MobiKwick live on the Google Play Store again. A new version of this application of this app is now available on Google Play Store and this does not include the Aarogya Setu App link. Although many other applications have the link to Aarogya Setu but no action has been taken against them by Google. We can only wonder what made Google take such a step as there has been no official explanation from Google as such.
