A recent report claimed that WhatsApp’s group chats links can be easily found on Google. This is happening because of some technical glitch in the app. By using this glitch anyone can easily join any WhatsApp group and can see the group chats, these chats were indexed by Google. The problem is now fixed by WhatsApp.

Facebook’s credibility is going down and down day by day. Another incident that questioned the privacy of the users who are using WhatsApp which is owned by Facebook has revealed that your WhatsApp group chats may have leaked. The “Invite to Group via Link” feature which allows groups to be indexed by Google and they’re available across the internet. You can get those links via searching some key terms on Google. This also left a few question marks on google, but Google has already raised their hands from all this.  Danny Sullivan who is Google’s public search liaison replied saying, “Search engines like Google & others list pages from the open web. That’s what’s happening here. It’s no different than any case where a site allows URLs to be publicly listed. We do offer tools allowing sites to block content being listed in our results.”

There is still no clarification by Whatsapp on this issue but one of its spokesperson has said that the group invites which are available on google are shared by the people who wish to make their group public on the internet and grab more people in their group. Maybe it’s just a cover-up or a real thing but it’s not the first time Whatsapp has been in the talks for wrong things. Whatsapp already has found 12 vulnerabilies last year.

WhatsApp has fixed this bug but it has decreased the credibility of the app.
