Lenovo teased its new gaming smartphone under the brand of “Legion”. The company is looking forward to the new market of gaming smartphones which has expanded in these recent years.
Lenovo’s Legion is actually famous for its laptop series. The brand is known for its price to performance ratio. Lenovo is looking to gain some market share in this segment through the credibility of Legion. Lenovo also owns Motorola which they acquired back in 2014. Since then, Lenovo hasn’t done anything appreciable in the smartphone market. Lenovo also has its own smartphone series but it failed to focus on both the brands. Motorola’s comeback was made by the “Motorola Razr” which was a modified version of the famous “Motorola Razr V3”. The phone promised to have a foldable screen but the hype was crushed by Samsung’s newly launched “Samsung Z Flip” which has more better features and designs than the Razr.
Lenovo is planning to launch this new gaming phone to keep its existence in the industry for a long time. The teaser confirms that it has the new Snapdragon 865. Rumors also suggest that the phone will have a 144Hz display, DDR5 RAM, and UFS storage. There is also no clarity about the pricing of the device but looking at the specifications, the phone can touch the $800 mark. Looks like Lenovo is using the ASUS’s ROG model. ROG or Republic Of Gamers also started as a laptop brand and turned toward the gaming smartphone industry. ROG will be one of the competitors for Legion in the market.
We might see the new smartphone later this year in China first and later in the world market.
