Apple Now Offering Onsite Repairs For iPhones

Apple has come up with a new repair service where they can conduct onsite repairs through one of its authorized service providers. These service providers would come to your home or office to repair your device. The service can be accessed through Apple’s support site from which you can schedule your repairs. However, onsite repairs are currently available only in six cities across the US; San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Dallas.

The repairs are being offered via Go Tech Services, whose website lists it as an Apple Authorized Service Provider. At the moment, the company’s website states that ists repair services can only be booked through Apple’s support site. When going through Apple’s support site, users can find repair options listed for iPhone screen repairs. However, this service doesn’t seem to be available for other repairs like battery replacements. Also, the onsite repairs are only limited iPhones. For other products, users would have to resort to shipping their devices or visiting the Apple store. Apple also states that an “onsite visit fee” may be charged in addition to the regular repair cost.

Apple had already launched a similar service earlier called AppleCare for Enterprise. However, this service was only available for organizations with devices numbering in the thousands. This feature may prove to be really useful for busy individuals. However, with the limited number of repair options and extra onsite repair fees, this service may not be for everyone. Nonetheless, it’s a nice service that would add more options to how a user would like to have his device repaired.
