Google has announced its I/O developer conference this year in style on Twitter by none other than the company’s CEO Sundar Pichai. It will take place between May 12th and May 14th at the usual venue of Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
Google would usually make the announcements in the form of puzzles and riddles as seen in the previous years but this year it has directly released the date without any exceptions. In 2017, Google had shared a brain puzzle through the Google Developers account on Twitter and the year that followed, there was another new puzzle that was related to Google Maps and the Google Campus building. In 2019 as well the company released a very cryptic message to announce the dates of the I/O event.
The Twitter handle of Sundar Pichai read as: ‘Cosmos aligned. We’ll be back at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View for this year’s #GoogleIO on May 12-14!’. Google had also revealed the date via an online game where the players have to restore a fictional satellite network. At the end of the game, the date for Google I/O 2020 was spelled out as ‘IO20 MAY 12.13.14’.
Google has been hosting the I/O event at the Shoreline Amphitheatre each year which is also located near Google’s HQ. Based on rumors, we could be looking at the launch of the budget oriented offerings of Pixel 3A and 3A XL. Not only this, there could also be a surprise launch of Pixel 4A with a headphone jack and a punch-hole design.
