People use the Youtube App on Android to watch all kinds of videos whether it is movie trailer, music, educational content and others. And with the availability of Chromecast, it makes the viewing experience even easier on a TV. The company has now updated the Android App with new features for casting that includes a remote control and voice controls.
The change is visible in the latest version 14.50.53 of the YouTube App where you will see the cast menu once you cast a video from the App directly to your TV screen. The new cast menu has been nicely designed to give the users full control of the playback controls. You just to tap the remote button and it will open up a interface with a virtual D-pad, a voice control button and a back button.
With the voice search, users will be able to search for any channel or content instantly. Although, the voice search was previously available for YouTube Android users, it was not as efficient as it is now after the update. It also lets you quickly search for content instead of having to type each letter and word in the search box with your TV remote.
YouTube has been extending its support to more and more Smart Tvs because people who use streaming services like Amazon Fire Stick, PS4 can easily watch content in HDR and also make use of Alexa voice control. On the Android App, YouTube has also added a ‘Who’s Watching?’ option which lets you switch between all the different accounts linked to the same device.
