Xiaomi Launches the 100W Fast Charger in China

We have been hearing many rumors about the 100 W fast charger from Xiaomi this year but it seems like the company has now made it official and it is safe to say that the this charger is for real. The 100W charger has been launched by the company in China and it claims to charge the Redmi Note 8 smartphone in just 17 minutes.

This super fast charger was launched at a conference in China where the company also demonstrated a video which showed the 100W charger in action and how amazingly well it works. Basically, the 100 W charger is Xiaomi’s take on the 120W Super Fast charger which was launched by Vivo earlier this year. Vivo’s charger can charge a 4000mAh battery within 13 minutes.

Apart from these chargers, the other smartphone brands like Oppo and Realme had released the 65W and 50W fast charging technology. This shows that the fast chargers are showing up in the market at good pace while also creating a new trend for the buyers to try these new fast chargers.

Coming back to Xiaomi’s 100 W fast charger, it will be able to charge most of the popular Mi smartphones like Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 7 series and Redmi K20 series in less than 20 minutes. Also most of the new Xiaomi flagship models that will launch in 2020 will support the 100W charger. As per the report by BGR, this fast charger consists of high-voltage charge pump with a 9-fold charge protection where the 7-fold protection is for the motherboard and the 2-fold protection is for the battery.
