Apple has finally announced their new 16-inch MacBook Pro as we have been hearing a lot of rumors about it since the start of 2019. This new laptop is now the best performing MacBook Pro by Apple and comes with a bigger and better battery capacity. The company has also added the new Magic keyboard that takes care of the previously flawed butterfly-switch keyboard.
With the 16-inch MacBook Pro, it is highly possible that Apple will be discontinuing the 15-inch MacBook Pro going forward. The new laptop comes with the largest ever Retina display on a MacBook variant with a pixel density of 226ppi and a resolution of 3072×1920 and it has been highly calibrated for primary colour accuracy, gamma and white point.
Speaking about the specifications, the 16-inch MacBook Pro has the 8-core processor on board with Intel’s 9th Gen CPUs. There is a massive 64GB of RAM with up to 8TB of storage which is more than sufficient to work on and carry around your important projects and files. The graphics have also been boosted with the AMD Radeon Pro 5000M chip with up to 8GB of dedicated VRAM.
The 100Wh battery will give up to 11 hours of standby time which is much higher than the previous MacBook Pro models. Similar to the 15-inch model, this laptop also includes the Touch ID sensor, Touch Bar, Force Touch trackpad and Apple T2 security chip. Apart from this, a physical Escape key has also been included for quick switching between modes and views.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at a price of $2399 in the United States and will be available in the usual colors of Silver and Space Gray.
