Apple Wants iPhone 5 Users To Update Software Before It Shuts Down

Apple has released a new update for a set of older iPhones and iPads today because otherwise it would lead to these devices not working properly. The device in focus is the iPhone 5 which means for the users who still use it, they need to update the software immediately as they can’t access many functions from 3rd November.

The problem is somewhat because these devices are now older but also because there is a GPS related issue which could cause further problems. Keeping this mind, Apple has made sure that will be no problems as long as users update their iPhone 5 from the Settings menu and install iOS 10.3.4.

On their website, Apple also said that for those who have still haven’t updated their iPhone 5 it’s important to update the software wirelessly or using their computer before November 3 to maintain accurate GPS location and to continue to use functions that rely on correct date and time including App Store, iCloud, email and web browsing.

Apart from the iPhone 5, some of the older iPads including iPad Mini, iPad 2, and iPad 3rd generation models need to get updated to iOS 9.3.6 otherwise the GPS feature won’t work accurately. The issue doesn’t concern iPod touch or other iPad models which work only on Wi-Fi so users of these devices don’t have to worry for any software issues.

iPhones actually also need new softwares from time to time for better accessibility so that users can easily sign-up for Apple services or any Apple Hardware like the AirPods Pro.
