Xiaomi finally announced their most anticipated OS MIUI 11 for Mi fans across India. This came alongside the launch of the new Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in an event held in New Delhi. This new OS succeeds MIUI 10 and is built on top of Android 10.
With MIUI 11, Xiaomi smartphone users will be able to take advantage of new changes like the system wide dark mode, the redesigned Wallpaper Carousel, dynamic lock screen, breathing notification light among others. Xiaomi says that they have around 80 million weekly MIUI users in India and it believes that the number will keep climbing with the launch of MIUI 11.
The dynamic lock screen feature lets you apply texts as the lock screen wallpapers which the company tags as ‘Always On for the Always-On Generation’. Best thing is that now you can choose the color of the notification light that will be displayed on the lock screen for each of your Apps.
Apart from this, the Wallpapers carousel has been given a completely new look with an exciting new feature where you can set your videos recordings as wallpapers called Dynamic Video wallpapers. MIUI 11 also adds the step tracking feature for the very first time without needing a separate fitness tracker. This new OS also features the new charging animation, new screen unlock sounds and quick replies for gaming.
The company has also recently revealed that they have sold a staggering 100 million smartphones in the last five years. This shows how much of a dominating force it has become in the smartphone industry.
