Xiaomi’s First Smartwatch To Launch Soon

Xiaomi has teased the images for their upcoming Mi Watch which is expected to be launched alomgside Mi CC9 Pro (the phone with 108MP camera) at an event in China on November 5th. Looking at the images, the Mi Watch looks strikingly similar to the Apple Watch with the overall look and design.

The company posted about the Mi watch on Weibo, the biggest social media platform in China. They mentioned that this smartwatch will come equipped with GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, speaker and a linear motor. This watch will join many other smartwatch brands that work on Google’s Wear OS platform.

People had been speculating about the Mi Watch before and some also found evidence in the recent Wear OS update which mentioned ‘Xiaomi Mi Watch’. This confirms that the Mi Watch will run on Wear OS for sure. Xiaomi already has the Mi Band for fitness tracking so we are not very sure about the introduction of Mi Watch and how different it would be compared to the Mi Band.

As we mentioned before, the Mi Watch does look very similar to the Apple Watch with the rotating crown on the right side of the device and the shape of the dial. Xiaomi seems to take inspiration for its device more from Apple than any other brand which are clearly visible in their smartphone and laptop design.

Mi watch is only a week away from the launch and we will find out soon what’s in store for this new device.
