Xiaomi has released a teaser for it next wireless charging technology on its official Weibo account. The teaser reads as ‘Mi Charge Turbo’ and the company has confirmed that it will be laucnhing the tech on September 9th in an event in China.
We also see something written in Chinese below the teaser which points out to ‘5G’ and ‘wireless’. This could mean that there would be a completely wireless charging dock for Xiaomi smartphones along with the support for 5G enable smartphones in the future.
Xiaomi currently ships the 20W wireless fast charger, which is supposed to be the fastest charger from the company, along with the Mi9 smartphone. The same phone also supports 27W fast charging via Mi’s 27W SonicCharge Superfast charger which was unveiled recently.
Earlier this year, the company had also demonstrated the 100 W wired fast charger in a video. But we are not sure if they would launch this charger as well before launching a 40W charger. Speaking of 5G, this new wireless technology could power the upcoming 5G smartphone from Xiaomi- Mi Mix 4 which will be launched on September 24 along with MIUI 11.
We don’t have much information about the device so far but it could be an exclusive wireless charger for 5G devices from Xiaomi in the future. The company will also be holding an event in India soon on September 17 where it could launch Mi smart home products and Mi Smart LED TVs as it has a good popularity with its Redmi smartphone series in India.
