Google has added an new payment option on the Play Store for its Indian users which is the UPI payment gateway. This will join the already available credit card and debit card payment options on the Play Store.
Unified Payments Interface commonly know as UPI has been the most favorable options for Indian users when it comes to bill payments or sending money to the family members and friends instantly. The best thing about this payment option is that it is fast, reliable and the probability of errors with your transactions is null.
Play Store in India having the facility of UPI is a good indication as people can now make use of this service for any subscriptions or purchases for any of the Android Apps and also for e-books.
UPI basically connects directly to the user’s bank account which makes it very user-friendly and faster for daily transactions. So far, this service supports over 141 banks in the country thus covering most of the well known and regional banks so that the users won’t have any issue while linking their bank accounts on the Play Store.
The feature will be available on the latest version 16.3.37 of Google Play Store. It will be gradually rolling out for all Android users as some of them may not see the feature right now on their Android devices. The update will also be rolling out on smartphones running on Android 10 which include all the Pixel phones – Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
