According to reports, TikTok owner ByteDance acquired Jukedeck, an AI based music startup. Jukedeck company basically generates music with the help of it’s AI software which can be adjusted with the video clip by changing the tempo, length and a few other settings.
The users on TikTok will by default make use of the licensed music while creating videos and there is no other way that they can add a different music to it. This new acquisition will actually help resolve this problem and let TikTok users make use of Jukedeck and at the same time help ByteDance reduce its cost.
This is because TikTok has to pay for each licensed song that is used on it’s App and this increases the overall cost for the company. In this case, Jukedeck will help reduce the additional expenses with the AI generated royalty-free tracks and will also help the creators to shift their content out of this platform if they are not happy with the licensing deals of TikTok.
However, there is no official statement on this right now from either of the firms regarding this new development. But speaking about Jukedeck, every employee on this company has changed their profile on LinkedIn and have listed ByteDance as their current employer. And if you head over to the website of Jukedeck, a message is displayed which says – We can’t tell you more just yet, but we’re looking forward to continuing to fuel creativity by using musical AI.
