Google Duo is one of those services which people use it blindly for voice/video calling. It has even outnumbered the likes of WhatsApp and Facebook in terms of video calling, and recently hit the milestone of a billion users worldwide. The company has now included a new feature where a user can send photos to their contacts directly.
The photo sharing feature was spotted in the new build of this App named ‘Google Duo 56‘. With this, users can share any photo stored in their phones with their contacts. This could be a great addition for those who want to share any important image while having a video or voice chat without having to send the picture later on via email or maybe WhatsApp.
Some users are already seeing this feature in the version 55 of the App. Still, we are not very sure if you need the newest version for the photo sharing feature to work. The feature works very similar to how you share pictures on WhatsApp, but the ability to send them from within the Google Duo App is currently not possible. And the only way you can do this is from outside the App, where you get a pop-up option for Google Duo when you hit the share option for an image on your phone.
The Google Duo App currently does not support texting, which could possibly come in the future updates and make the app a very effective tool for communication. But for now, sharing photos makes it much better than the previous versions.
You can download the latest version from the Play Store.
