Xiaomi is very well know for its lower priced/ budget smartphones and the customized MIUI that comes along with these phones. However, there is some bad news for Redmi budget smartphone users as the company announced today that it will stop building beta ROMs for these phones and will focus only on new and upcoming smartphones.
So, basically, Xiaomi will be removing all of its budget smartphones from the Beta program and users of these phones will no longer be able to install beta ROMs like they did before. The beta channels make it easy for the developers to receive feedback from the users who usually download it to get their hands on the latest features before the official stable version is released to the public.
The new decision by the company to bar budget Redmi smartphones from MIUI beta will take effect from July 5th onwards. This means that Redmi phones which are only under a year old will be compatible with the beta ROMs and users will be can lay their hands on the features that are being tested or which will be rolling out eventually to the regular users.
The company says that stable version will be able for all the older Redmi smartphones and the newer entry-level models. Xiaomi will be releasing another affordable smartphone Redmi K20 series soon and maybe the new decision is because they want to shift focus from the cheaper phones to the more premium phones like POCO Phone and Black Shark.
