Instagram Refreshes IGTV With Algorithm Based Feeds

Instagram is taking ideas from Snapchat and TikTok and infusing them into their App and this time it has done the same for Instagram TV (IGTV). IGTV has always been the same since its launch with hardly any changes and now the company has completely redesigned the user interface and overall viewing experience for its users.

If you were used to the side scrolling option on IGTV, it’s all gone now and the entire interface will have all the content delivered to you based on a set of algorithms. Maybe it will show you stuff based on your activity on Instagram and the people and pages that you follow. IGTV is basically a single place where you can watch all the videos on this social media platform including the longer ones and not just the short clips which you glance while scrolling through your Instagram feed.

Although IGTV is not very popular with the masses, this new change will likely attract more users considering it is a mix of what Snapchat and TikTok offer on their respective Apps. Instagram may not directly admit that it is copying from these Apps, but it is very evident considering the popularity of TikTok and the impact they have among the younger generation.

Everything is moving towards the use AI these days with more and more Apps trying to implement it to study the behavior and preferences of users. So it is not surprising that Instagram is doing the same to better the experience for its users.
