Valve has released a new App for gamers to discuss and communicate about any game related stuff called the Steam Chat App. The app is now available on both iOS and Android. The App will have the chat features similar to what’s offered on the desktop version of Steam. However, users will not be able to do voice calls at the moment but they can make use of texting in the App.
The company had upgraded the desktop version last year bringing in features that are similar to Discord. These include voice based features and redesigned interface among others. Steam gamers will have a lot of flexibility while they are on the move and they can always stay connected with their Steam friends and groups and other conversations in this App. This is exactly what Steam had been lacking since a long time now.
Users can keep tab of the channels they are following and the groups they are part of without having to do much. They can also set custom notifications for each of them or for any of their friends with separate options for Game chats, GIFs, saturday night players, etc. Just like the desktop version, the Steam Chat App will show the people who are online or in the game.
The chatting interface is very rich with Steam emoticons, GIFs that can be used in conversations along with videos, tweets and more. You can also invite friends who still haven’t started using this App and share the link with them on social media Apps easily.
