Apple Pay has been lately branching out to many different countries including Austria. The newest addition is in Iceland where users who have bank accounts can use this payment service on their iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. The banks in Iceland that will support Apple are – Landsbankinn and Arion banki.
Both these banks officially announced the partnership with Apple Pay on their respective social media sites. Here they have mentioned how users can get started with the Apple Pay system and use it to make contactless payments across different places in the country. The users will also have the option to add their credit or debit cards linked to either of these Iceland banks on the Wallet app. This way they can make payments with the help of their cards and Wallet App on websites.
Digital wallet has its own benefits and helps users make secure transactions without having to reach your wallet while paying for food or shopping while outdoors. Also, Apple Pay is being used across many regions of the US, so there won’t be any issues with the payments and it would benefit all the customers associated with these tow Iceland banks.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently spoke about the success of Apple Pay saying that this service is now available in 30 markets and they are expecting to hit 10 billion transactions on Apple Pay by the end of 2019. He further said that Apple Pay has been the most profitable for the company in the second quarter with $11.5 billion in earnings.
