Apple Is Creating A 4.8-Inch iPhone XE, Says Report

Among all the expensive iPhones released by Apple last year, the company could be planning to release a cheaper iPhone this year. The report claims that the screen size of this iPhone will be smaller, about 4.8 inches and would probably bear the name “iPhone XE”. Also, there won’t be Touch ID on this phone as it will come without the home button but users will get to use the Face ID feature.

The cost of the phone is expected to be around $600. Well, this cannot be really considered cheap but if you compare with the prices of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, it surely is. Apart from this, Apple is also considering to launch the phone with an AMOLED display, which usually costs higher. So, we really are not sure if they will really go ahead and include it in the iPhone XE.

And this is the first time that Apple is deciding to go for such a small screen size, which is not usually the company’s motive for new phones. As we have seen every new iPhone coming with a larger screen size since the past few years, the reports for a 4.8 inch iPhone XE seems to be really surprising.

The report goes on to say that the smartphone will come with an aluminium back, so you can forget about wireless charging. At the back, the smartphone is speculated to house a single 12 MP camera with a ƒ/1.8 aperture. This is similar to what we have seen on the iPhone XR. The processor powering the smartphone is speculated to be the same A12 BIONIC chip powering current Apple flagship smartphones.
