Users of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices had been recently reporting about the lag in their phones while opening certain Apps like Camera. Google has pushed a new update for this bug and the company claims that the issue should disappear for the users gradually. The update will fix the startup time for the camera and the overall behaviour and functionality that serves all the users in a positive light.
The update also brings fresh improvements to the Pixel’s overall flash storage performance and an image was also shared online for the same. This showed the comparison between the version before the update and now and it looks really good so far.
There were some other minor issues in the Pixel 3 phones after the launch, including audio apps closing automatically in the background, which were later resolved by Google.
Camera performance on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, especially when it came to the multi-second app startup time, has become a sore point for many owners, on top of general complaints and reports of diminished performance. Hopefully, the fixes included in this month’s release make a dent (we’ll be sure to let you know if we notice a difference).
There are five total improvements included in this month’s release, all applying exclusively to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. Outside the camera and storage changes, other fixes include better Bluetooth reliability, better playback for encrypted video media, and fixes for more smooth recover in the event of an OTA update failure.
