eBay is adding a new payment option today for its users, apart from the regular way of paying via PayPal. The Google Pay option will start to show on the eBay’s Android App in the coming days and users who are enrolled in eBay’s new payment service can get all the benefits that they usually get from the standalone Google Pay App.
This new addition will improve the user experience while buying or selling items on eBay, while users can still use PayPal depending on the ease of use and convenience. Speaking of Google Pay, it will not ask for personal details as it directly uses the credit cards linked to the customer’s Google account. This is excellent from a security point of view since a large of number of people are becoming concerned for their data on various payment platforms.
In a press release, eBay announced:
Google Pay provides users with a fast, simple and secure way to pay online. Offering Google Pay as a form of payment is another significant step toward providing our customers with more choice in their payment options, and creating an experience that is tailored to personal preferences.
PR Newswire reported:
Google Pay will be available to Android users starting in early April, joining Apple Pay as the latest payment option on the platform. Both options are currently only accessible when buying from sellers enrolled in eBay’s new payments experience, and will be increasingly available to shoppers as the program grows to process more volume in additional geographies.
