Netflix’s “Smart Downloads” Is Now Available On iPhone And iPad

Netflix had brought the Smart Downloads option on Android last year and since then, the company had been testing the same feature for iOS. Today, the feature has been officially launched across all iPhone and iPad devices.

Smart Downloads helps the viewer not waste time in manually selecting the videos to download and remove the ones that are already seen. All of it will be done by this feature once the user finishes watching a video, but it cannot happen offline and needs WiFi coverage to automatically download the videos for you. It surely gives more flexibility to the users who are usually based in or travelling in areas of poor network connectivity.

The support for iPhone and iPads will surely help the Netflix users on these iOS devices, who have been waiting since a long time to get this feature. The update has been rolled out today and should be available to majority of the iOS users who use this popular media streaming service.

We know how annoying it can be to go through all your apps and delete files you no longer need; we also understand that when it comes to Netflix, the faster you can get to the next episode you want to watch, the better. Whether it is smart downloading or viewing a mobile preview, we realize the best part of Netflix is connecting with the stories you will love in an easier and more fun way.

We also want to emphasize that giving consumers more control over their entertainment experience is at the heart of everything we do, and members can choose when they want to use Smart Downloads. There are more details on how to use the Smart Downloads feature here and we hope you enjoy it! Smart Downloads is initially available on Android, iOS and Windows 10 Netflix app.
