Xiaomi has added yet another budget smartphone to its cabinet with the announcement of the new Mi Play smartphone in China. The phone will offer a circular notch styled camera on the front for the first time from the company. However, the camera won’t have a punch hole design as expected on the Samsung Galaxy S10. Also, there is a dual-camera setup on the rear and it is vertically aligned.
The design is very unique with a glossy back finish and bezels on the front display. The phone comes with the following specifications: 5.84-inch full HD display, 1080 x 2280 display, MediaTek P35 processor, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, 3,000mAh battery with a Micro USB charging port, Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear-facing cameras.
Also, the 3000mAh battery is decent enough and will run the Mi Play device for an entire day without having to recharge. The company is offering the phone in 3 colours which are Dream Blue, Twilight Gold and Black. The pricing stands at $160 which is very reasonable compared to all the flagship devices from the top smartphone makers. Also, there is a micro-USB port which will handle easy transfer of files back and forth.
Best thing about the launch of Mi Play is that the company will be providing 10GB free data every month to every owner up to a year. This makes it a very special deal for the price and we are sure people have already started flocking the Mi stores in China. For all other global markets, we will have to wait for any further update from the company.
