Android users have always been wishing for a system wide night mode that will give them some relief from the regular and monotonous white theme. But, it seems like users of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, running on Android 9 Pie, can have the privilege of complete night mode now. If you own one of these device, you can choose to select the night theme as you wish or even set it up for an appropriate time of the day.
Samsung has also updated the user interface and it is calling it ‘Samsung One UI’. The UI will offer newer builds of Android Pie and the latest version that was rolled out this week seems to come with the ‘night mode’.
Simply follow the steps below to turn on night mode on Samsung One UI:
1. If you are not using Samsung One UI, update your samsung phone to the latest One UI.
2. Once updated, you need to swipe down from the top to access the quick toggle menu.
3. You will have to go to the second page of the quick toggle menu, where you shall find the
night mode toggle by default.
4. Click on the night mode toggle and tap the button which says ‘off’. This will turn on the
night mode on your device and the theme will work across all the native Samsung Apps. The
support for third-party Apps has not been tested so far.
The night mode is only available for Samsung phones on Android Pie Beta program for now. There is no official confirmation whether it will make it to the other Samsung phones like Galaxy S8, Note 8 and Note 9.
