Several users in the U.S, who opened their Google Play Store today were surprised to see free credit on their account. This is not an accident and Google has been sending these credits on purpose, but only to a few select lucky users. The credit showed up in the form of a few dollars in the range of $1, $2, $5, etc. Google wants to keep it’s users happy in this holiday season and has taken this wonderful initiative.
If you still aren’t sure about the free credits, you can check by scrolling through the homepage of Play Store where the credit will appear in an image banner. If you are not able to see that, you are surely not lucky this time. Hope you find better luck for the next time and get those free credits.
The free credits will basically help you to spend it on any purchase on the Play Store, whether it is Apps, games or other categories. The credits can only be used for subscriptions and in-app purchases and will expire in 2 years. The interesting thing is that the new owners of the new Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL each got a credit of $2. The amount actually varies and some have even been credit the amount up to $5. So, it depends on the smartphone that you have.
The promotion is currently going on only in the U.S. and it is unlikely that the users outside of the U.S. will be offered the free credits. Maybe Google is just testing it in the U.S. for now and will gradually offer them to the users acrooss the globe.
