Google has been lately adding a lot of new features to the Google Maps, to make the user experience much better than ever. Google announced in a blog post today that it will adding a new set of features including personalized traffic data, support for ‘mixed-mode’ commutes, real-time bus and train tracking, and integration with Apple Music, Google Play Music and Spotify.
The Maps will now feature the new Commute Tab which will hep users to figure out the traffic and routes along their way. Google will give you real-time feedback so that you know how to manoeuvre in crunch situations without having to wait for Maps to give your instructions. It will also instruct you about any delays and will notify you immediately.
For those of you who are used to commuting in multiple modes like Bus, Train, Car, Maps will show you relevant real-time information pertaining to each of these modes. So, if you change from bus to a walk, it will immediately tell you where the traffic is and which route will be the fastest to reach the destination.
Best part about these updates is the integration of music streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play Music right into the Google Maps App for Android users. This will help people to control the playback from the App without having to jump between the Apps during the commute.
Things are surely getting easier and faster with these updates as Google is focusing more on public transportation which millions of people depend on every single day. The updates are rolling out gradually on both iOS and Android devices.
