Apple Launches iPhone Xr

Apple announced the successors to the last year’s iPhone X at the company’s annual September 12th launch event. The new iPhones that have been launched are the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR and also the new version of the popular wearable device, the Apple Watch Series 4. Let us have a look at the iPhone Xr.

If you are someone who appreciates a good variety of colours before purchasing a new phone, the iPhone Xr is definitely for you. This phone comes in the six exciting colours that are: Blue, coral, yellow, white, black, and red. Compared to iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, this phone is definitely affordable as it costs from a starting price of $749.

iPhone Xr has a 6.1 inch LCD screen instead of the OLED screen on the higher priced iPhone Xs and Xs Max and comes with an aluminium frame which looks good. There is a notch cut-out on the top of the phone for the Apple’s Face ID login system.

The camera on the phone is a single 12MP wide-angle lens and includes the same True-Depth camera technology like the iPhone Xs. The new LCD panel on the phone is named as ‘Liquid Retina’ by Apple, but it won’t be as vibrant like the OLED screen in iPhone Xs and Xs Max.

iPhone Xr will also run on the powerful A12 Bionic processor chip and in comparison with last year’s iPhone 8 Plus model, the battery will last for 90 minutes longer. The storage options available are 64GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
