Nokia Phone With Five Cameras, Shows New Leak

We could be looking at an all new Nokia phone with 5 camera lens, which is under development if the leak is to be believed. HMD global, the Finnish company which licensed the rights to produce Nokia phones had teamed up with Zeiss last for future line up of Android powered phones. The leaked images show a Nokia phone with five camera on the back similar to a leak that had a Nokia 10 device with the penta-lens setup.

The idea of multiple lens camera is not new and we already saw the launch of three rear cameras in Huawei P20 Pro this year. The device supports 5x hybrid zoom/3x optical zoom. The inclusion of 3 or more cameras will definitely help with the zoom functions and maybe even something more than zoom. Even LG is considering five cameras, two at the front and three at the back, for it’s future flagship phone.

Nokia is always innovating in the camera department with a history that reflects on Lumia 1020 cameras and 808 PureView. Nokia also recently launched the OZO VR Camera, a next-generation camera for capturing audio and video in 360 degrees. Back in May, Apple also had hired Nokia’s Lumia photography lead Ari Partinen to help the company with iPhone cameras.

Considering that the Nokia’s talented PureView engineers left the company when Microsoft acquired Nokia’s phone business, we may not see the same image sampling technologies from the PureView and Lumia phones. But with the changing times and new tech in smartphones coming up everyday, the Nokia phone with 5 cameras would be an interesting entry in the smartphone industry.
